January / February Facilitator Bulletin

Dear Facilitators:

I would like to start the first Facilitator Bulletin of this year by sharing a sheet called "The Centering Prayer Group Facilitator" (available here, in the blogpost below this one). It provides a basic overview about Centering Prayer groups and of the role of facilitators. It serves as a beginning and is, indeed, at the beginning of the Facilitator Handbook.

In your responses to what you would like addressed in these Newsletters, more than a few of you mentioned losing motivation and wished that you had a co-facilitator to help you with the group. I would like to briefly address this issue.

"The Centering Prayer Group Facilitator"

Facilitators guide the Centering Prayer Groups that are established, particularly the weekly session after the presentation of the initial Six-Hour Introductory Workshop on "The Introduction to Centering Prayer."

The primary purpose of Centering Prayer Groups is to help sustain the commitment in a regular practice of Centering Prayer. The Centering Prayer Group meetings consist of period(s) of Centering Prayer, ongoing education in the conceptual background to Centering Prayer, Lectio Divina, and the sharing with others of experiences with Centering Prayer and its effect in daily life. Such small groups have the potential to grow into Contemplative Communities to support the members' growth in the contemplative dimension of the Gospel.

How to Use This Blog

Greetings CONSD servant-leaders!

Here are the basic pointers for navigating this blog on a computer (see below for smart phone navigation): It's mostly: pointing, scrolling, and clicking

First of all, when you click on the blog address or URL, the blog always features the most recently written (or most recently edited) post at the top of the page. To read previous posts, you can either scroll down to read them or click on the links at the top five tabs or on the dated archive on right-hand side of the blog page. (The print is small there on the right side, but I'm unable to make it larger. Sorry!)
