CONSD Scholarship Guidelines


CONSD SCHOLARSHIPS:  Team Meeting (Linda Dollins, Mary Williams, Susan Wheeler, Kathy Mendoza, Joan Thompson) of May 4, 2022

Purpose

Invest in individuals to attend “functions” (retreats, study, seminars, Etc.) that support CONSD values as stated in the Mission Statement:

The Mission of Contemplative Outreach of North San Diego is to:
· Teach Centering Prayer
· Build a Christ centered community, and
· Support the Contemplative life

Criteria

The criteria will be evaluated after the first year the scholarship guidelines are enacted or, if necessary, before then.

Demographics

N/A People connect with us even from other countries and wish to attend events we do not advertise or even sponsor.

Guidelines

Frequency – N/A
Amount - Up to $500 without approval from Mary
Promotion/Marketing/Communication of these scholarships
Scholarship availability stated on CONSD’s “Recommended” list and chapter offerings.

Approval Process

Linda Dollins, as treasurer, will respond to all requests under $500. Mary Williams will respond to requests above $500. CONSD will create a new Gmail account accessible to Linda and Mary: consdscholars@gmail.com. This account will be used to respond to scholarship inquiries or other questions and concerns. We will ask for a recipient’s name, contact information, and the event name. Scholarship money will be paid directly to the event host / site.

Confidentiality

Names will not be published but events attended may be to note what offerings appeal to people.

Other Recommendations


CONSD in-person events such as Introductory Workshops, retreats and workshops will post the following by a basket: Any amount you’re comfortable donating is welcome. We are grateful for your presence.
