"Jesus, Master, have mercy on us!"
We invite you to a few minutes of silence before we begin our prayer time together.
Take a deep breath and breathe in the breath of God, knowing by faith that God breathes into us the breath of life.
CONTEMPLATIVE / SILENT PRAYER
Our Centering Prayer sit is 20 - 30 minutes sounded by the chime/chant. At the end of the Prayer sit, we will linger in silence a few minutes, then follow by praying together the Our Father.

LECTIO: from Luke 17: 11-19
On the way to Jerusalem Jesus was
going through the region between Samaria and Galilee. As he entered a
village, ten lepers approached him. Keeping their distance, they called
out, saying, “Jesus, Master, have mercy on us!” When he saw them, he said
to them, “Go and show yourselves to the priests.” And as they went, they were
made clean. Then one of them, when he saw that he was healed, turned
back, praising God with a loud voice. He prostrated himself at Jesus’ feet
and thanked him. And he was a Samaritan. Then Jesus asked, “Were not ten
made clean? But the other nine, where are they? Was none of them found to
return and give praise to God except this foreigner?” Then he said to him,
“Get up and go on your way; your faith has made you well.”
Second reading & reflection: What word or phrase catches your attention? Share or pass.
Third reading & reflection: How does this word or phrase touch your life? Share or pass.
Fourth and last reading & silent reflection: How is God inviting you to grow? We will reflect in silence for a few moments before we move from Lectio Prayer to the teaching by Father Keating or another contemplative guide.
The experience of God’s love and the experience of our
weaknesses are correlative. These are two poles that God works with as [God]
gradually frees us from immature ways of relating to God. The experience of our
desperate need for God’s healing is the measure in which we experience God’s
mercy. The deeper the experience of God’s mercy, the more compassion we will
have for others.
~Thomas Keating, Invitation to Love, p. 17.
