"Living is Christ and dying is gain."
For to me, living is Christ and dying is gain.
If I am to live in the flesh, that means fruitful labor for me; and I do not
know which I prefer. I am hard pressed between the two: my desire is to depart
and be with Christ, for that is far better; but to remain in the flesh is more
necessary for you. Since I am convinced of this, I know that I will remain and
continue with all of you for your progress and joy in faith, so that I may share
abundantly in your boasting in Christ Jesus when I come to you again.
Searching for and rediscovering the True Self
is the fundamentum, the essential task that will gradually open us to
receiving and giving love to God, others, and ourselves, and thus to live truly
just lives. Grace builds on nature; it does not avoid or destroy nature. . . .
You (and every other creation of God) begin with your unique divine DNA, an inner destiny as it were, an absolute core that knows the truth about you, a true believer tucked away in the cellar of your being, an imago Dei that begs to be allowed, to be fulfilled, and to show itself. “You were chosen in Christ before the world was made—to stand before God in love—marked out beforehand as fully adopted sons and daughters” (Ephesians 1:4-5). This is your True Self or soul.
