We invite you to a few minutes of silence before we begin our prayer time together.

LECTIO: from Mark 3:30-35
Then his mother and his brothers came; and standing outside, they sent to him and called him. A crowd was sitting around him; and they said to him, “Your mother and your brothers and sisters are outside, asking for you.” And he replied, “Who are my mother and my brothers?” And looking at those who sat around him, he said, “Here are my mother and my brothers! Whoever does the will of God is my brother and sister and mother.”

CONTEMPLATIVE / SILENT PRAYER
Our Centering Prayer sit is 20 - 30 minutes sounded by the chime/chant. At the end of the Prayer sit, we will linger in silence a few minutes, then follow by praying together the Our Father.
The New Zealand Anglican Lord's Prayer
Eternal Spirit, Earth-maker, Pain-bearer, Life-giver,
Source of all that is and that shall be,
Father and Mother of us all,
Loving God, in whom is heaven:
The hallowing of your name echo through the universe!
The way of your justice be followed by the peoples of the world!
Your heavenly will be done by all created beings!
Your commonwealth of peace and freedom sustain our hope and come on earth.
With the bread we need for today, feed us.
In the hurts we absorb from one another, forgive us.
In times of temptation and test, strengthen us.
From trials too great to endure, spare us.
From the grip of all that is evil, free us.
For you reign in the glory of the power that is love, now and for ever.

God is revealed as the Being of our being; the Love of our loving; the Life of our living. The mystery of God in Christ seeks to bring Himself to others through us, as food for the hungry, clothing for the naked, justice for the imprisoned, and compassion for the stranger, the widow, and the orphan. Contemplation, and the lifestyle leading to it and flowing from it, asks but a single question, “What does kindness look like at any given moment?” Here there is no in or out; no before or after; no above or below; “no Jew or Greek, slave or free, no male or female; for we are all one in Christ Jesus”(Gal 3:28). In the mystery of God in Christ there are no such socially sanctioned distinctions and permissions to exclude; no personal or social permissions for comparison, rivalry, or violence.--Martin Laird, An Ocean of Light, 16.
